Allied Health Assistance
(Speech Pathology)
Allied Health Assistants (AHAs) work under the direction of allied health professionals to deliver intervention supports across different environments to assist with:
Homework practice.
Implementing recommended strategies in a person’s natural environment.
Liaising with allied health professionals on progress and goal achievement.
Although not a substitute for a qualified therapist, AHAs tend to offer more value for money, which can mean more frequent sessions which can enhance learning and generalisation of skills.
Allied Awakening employs Allied Health Assistants who have a minimum certificate iii, and/or are currently studying an allied health degree at university. This aims to ensure that participants receive quality supports based on evidence based practice.
*We regret to inform that we do not accept referrals for assessment and intervention regarding the implementation of High-Tech AAC devices. (This includes iPad apps and speech generating devices.)
